About Us

Learn about our journey, our guides, and the values that drive us to provide the safest and most ethical trekking experiences on Kilimanjaro.

Our Story

Founded by local Tanzanians with a deep love for Kilimanjaro, Team Raha was born from a desire to share the magic of the mountain with the world, while ensuring the benefits flow back into the local community. We are not just a tour company; we are a family of guides, porters, and staff dedicated to providing the safest, most ethical, and most memorable trekking experiences on the mountain.

Our journey began over a decade ago, with our founders working as porters and guides themselves. They witnessed firsthand what makes a trek successful and what can be improved. This ground-level experience is the foundation of our company and informs every decision we make.

Meet the Guides

Our guides are the heart and soul of Team Raha. Each guide is licensed by Kilimanjaro National Park, certified in Wilderness First Aid, and has years of experience leading treks on all routes. They are not just experts in navigation and safety; they are passionate storytellers, patient teachers, and your biggest cheerleaders on the mountain.

KPAP is an independent organization that monitors trekking companies to ensure they are providing ethical treatment to their porters.
